Due to the recent amendment of the foreigners law, according to Article 87-B, migrants must now prove the existence of a serious and urgent threat in order to obtain immediate judicial protection, and the court has the right to reject cases without a full review if it does not find sufficient grounds for urgency or importance. This makes court protection less accessible and more selective, and the work of attorneys more complicated.

It's not possible to choose the AIMA office for submission; most likely, it will be in the northern part of the country, where the workload is lower.

- Your current bank account's statement, no older than 30 days (for the last 3 months)
- Your bank statement for your savings account no older than 30 days
- NIF (Portuguese tax number)
- NISS (Portuguese social security number) – if available
- SNS Temporary patient number or health insurance
- Criminal record certificate with apostille and translation into Portuguese – for D4 applications
